Slam Sanctuary has just hit another milestone! One year has passed since debuting our booth, clothing range and pop-up store back at Ultimate Stance 2015. That’s one whole year of taking our brand and products around the UK and Europe, and I have to say, the reception has been phenomenal and better than I could’ve imagined. You are all making my dream come true, so thank you – every single one of you who continues to read the blog, purchase our products and visit us when we are out at events. I’m seeing more and more people wearing our clothing at shows – it means so much that so many of you want to spend your hard earned cash on supporting the brand. With that said, the return of Ultimate Stance this year meant that we had to top our previous efforts. Naturally, we returned to our favourite spot, the VIP carpeted hall in the Telford International Centre, with four of the UK’s best BMWs… representing the two worlds of suspension that we now offer, with Bekir’s E39 & Az’s E92 both on air, and Nick’s E34 & Alex’s E36 showing what can still be achieved on static coilovers. As well as having our new Autumn/Winter clothing collection available, we also brought down our sofa and TV with Xbox One S and Forza Horizon 3 for people to play during the day, it turned out to be a great hangover cure for those not wanting to do much after a heavy night of partying. Ultimate Stance is always the perfect end-of-season event – there’s always a huge variety of cars on display, and I’d say it’s a show completely different people and cars from the automotive world finally come together for one final blowout. Take a look at the highlights…

Ultimate Stance really is a great way to end the car show season. Turning into an overnight event for those displaying cars and trading, it’s a bit more chilled, allowing more time to be spent with friends that probably won’t be reunited again until next year when the season starts again with Ultimate Dubs at the same venue. With some cool touches, like the Wheel Whores display, a Retro Hall packed with classic cars and retro gaming consoles free to play, and even a gathering of Lowriders outdoors… there was plenty going on to keep everyone occupied for the day. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed this season of events in the UK, plus the few we were lucky enough to head over to mainland Europe for. Our next show will indeed be Ultimate Dubs in March 2017 – keep an eye social media and save the date when it’s announced. In the meantime, we have plenty of content coming up to keep you entertained during the winter months, so check back to slamsanctuary.com soon.

Westside Treffen 2016

Date: 25 September 2016

Location: Chalfont St. Peter Cricket Club, Gerrards Cross

Words & Photos by Henry Phull

Westside Treffen is the hidden gem of modified car shows in the UK. It really does surprise me how many people don’t know of its existence when I mention it. From people that have been, including all the regulars, you’ll constantly hear “Come to Westside. It’s THE most chilled out show.” Well, they ain’t lying! The quality of cars on display is usually top notch too, and that’s partly what makes this show awesome. It could also have something to do with the time of year, being the last outdoor event on the calendar, a lot of people are about to tuck their show cars away for winter. Westside is one final stage for your pride and joy to make a spectacle before the new show season (Unless you’re attending Ultimate Stance this weekend, of course – but the crowd there is slightly different). The ideology for Westside is pretty simple really. Book out a cricket club on the outskirts of West London, bring your friends and their cars (of which 80% happen to be concourse condition classic Volkswagens), get the family to help out with some incredible home-cooked food, 80s/90s music and you’re onto a winner. It’s no surprise that the show has grown year on year but still remains a small, relaxed event.

I’m really pleased that Westside has stuck to the same venue. It seems like they could move somewhere bigger every year with ease. Instead, they stick to what they know and what works. Let’s face it, there’s plenty of larger shows you can visit, but this is partly what makes Westside unique. Some worry about getting their car into the show because of the limited space – I say just turn up earlier! I think I said it in my previous article, but 2016 has not been kind to us in regards to rain… Luckily the rain stayed away for this show, but it had been chucking it down the previous night, which meant wet roads on route to the show. This blatantly put a few people off, but it just so happened that people turned up a bit later than usual. The show was heaving. I turned up, caught up with loads of friends, admired some impressive cars, and feasted on some fantastic Jamaican and Indian food. What’s not to love? If you’ve still not been to Westside, you’ve been missing out.

We’ll catch you all very soon with our booth at Ultimate Stance (Telford International Centre) on Sunday 30th October.

RollHard: The Show 2016

Date: 14 August 2016

Location: Cressing Temple Barns, Essex

Words & Photos by Henry Phull

Established back in 2010, RollHard is now one of the most recognised groups in the modified car scene… They choose to focus on the sense of community that comes with the lifestyle of a petrolhead, “All makes, all models, one community” as they state, which I absolutely love. It’s not hard to work out why so many car enthusiasts choose to be a part of RH and of course rock the stickers on their cars. Let’s face it, if you’re into cars, you’ve heard of RollHard. They’re everywhere, and even have a huge following over in Europe. Having previously held a few events (RollHard Duxford back in 2013, The Belgian Chapter in 2014 and 2015, and their Charity event also in 2015), a new idea was brought to life this year after discovering an absolute gem of a location in Essex – the Cressing Temple Barns. Imagine a beautiful, scenic venue in the remote countryside, featuring 13th Century Medieval barns, outbuildings, gardens, and paddocks. Not your usual recipe for a car show, but that’s what made this one just that extra bit special. With plenty of nooks and crannies throughout the venue, cars were dotted all over the place, which made it more fun to explore than say, strolling past rows upon rows of cars like at other shows. Usually, I’m not the biggest fan of car events on grass, but the quirkiness of this venue definitely made up for it. So, sit back and check out the highlights below…

RollHard: The Show was certainly one of the more unique car events on the calendar. With plenty of gorgeous cars to look at, gardens to explore, their own cinema, badminton (yep!), on-site tea rooms with ice cream and refreshments, as well as some very tasty food stalls (which makes a nice change!), it made for the perfect day out. For their first event at this venue, I think they did a fantastic job. Here’s to the next one – thanks for having us!

FittedUK 2016 – Part 2

Date: 31 July 2016

Location: EventCity, Manchester

Words & Photos by Henry Phull

Welcome back to our FittedUK coverage – in this final part I’ll take you through the remaining highlights from the incredible show at EventCity, the new location for 2016. You’ve already seen that the event was full of high quality cars and now it’s about to get even better. It’s time to take a look into the carpeted hall, show a few gems that we missed from the rest of the venue and even more of the cars from the Slam Sanctuary booth. There’s something special about an event of this size. All the excess space glorifies the cars on show, allowing you to fully admire them. When they’re squashed together (like at a lot of smaller shows) you’re much more likely to walk straight past or pay less attention. FittedUK was like an art exhibition for cars… They truly nailed what a static automotive event should be. Anyway, on to the all-important photos…

Apparently next year’s show will have cars hanging from the ceiling! When I first heard that, I thought “really…?” but after seeing what these guys can pull off, I wouldn’t be surprised if they get it done. Not only was this my favourite UK show of the year so far, it was Slam Sanctuary’s best stand yet – thank you to everyone that came and picked something up in our Summer Sale and had a look around the cars on display; Nick Sahota’s E34, Sumil Pancholi’s E39, Sean Crompton’s E36 and Mark Allen’s Mk4 wagon. If you missed out on our sale, fear not, you can still shop online and get 30% OFF until the end of August. I’m super excited to see what the FittedUK team have up their sleeves for 2017 – if you didn’t get the chance to go this year, mark the following date on your calendar: Sunday 30th July 2017. We’ll be there – hopefully you will be too.

VW Days 2016

Date: 18/19 June 2016

Location: Seraucourt-le-Grand, France

Words & Photos by Henry Phull

This year is all about the European car shows here at Slam Sanctuary. I’d heard numerous good things about VW Days, which is organised every year by ‘Club Golf Ile de France’ and held in a quiet town just outside of Saint Quentin. This is nice for us Brits as the venue is less than a two-hour drive from the Calais terminal, and essentially one stress-free smooth toll road. Being a two day event, we set off on the Saturday morning from the Eurotunnel and decided to stay overnight in a hotel just ten minutes away, although for a majority of the show goers, it’s all about the camping experience. This year though, the weather on Saturday was horrendous – so I’m glad I had a hotel room! The rain put a few people off on day one making it a washout, but come Sunday the sun was out and the show transformed into something epic. I even came home with some sunburn! Much like when we were in Belgium, it was a nice change to see what the Europeans are building.  To adhere to the name VW Days, the event is very VAG-orientated, understandably, with a few exceptions that you’ll find throughout the article. All in all, I was blown away by the variety of builds and the sheer size of the show. Here are the cars that stood out from the crowd…

What a variation, right? The quality of cars was just phenomenal, and it’s hardly surprising that so many people from the UK make the trip over for VW Days. It’s a petrolhead’s dream short break, whether you camp and enjoy the party onsite, or decide to hotel it and experience the local town that becomes completely taken over by modified cars from all over Europe – similar to a mini-Wörthersee in fact. Many thanks to Club Golf IDF for having us, we’ll certainly be back again! Our next European adventure will take us to M.I.V.W. in August. Until then, see you all at the coming UK events.

Stance Fever 2016

Date: 22 May 2016

Location: Rockingham, Northamptonshire

Words & Photos by Henry Phull

Back in January I had a message from my friend Faz, the co-organiser behind Stance Fever, mentioning that he was putting on a bigger and better show for 2016. The event originally debuted at the Ace Cafe in London, then moved to Essex in 2015, so this year had to be something even bigger. Bigger is definitely the word… This year Stance Fever moved to the famous Rockingham Speedway in Corby, Northamptonshire. With plenty of excitement in the air, we decided to join forces and agree to attend with our pop-up store for this years show. Plus, it was the first outing for our new Audi A6 Avant hauler, even if it did break down on the way home, but I won’t bore you with the details. Take a look at our highlights from the day – the mix of cars was quite something, with a huge variety of marques catered for.

Our pop-up store… Catch us next at Eurosunday in Belgium!

There you have it, everything from bagged Ford Fiestas to classic Toyota Soarers, Stance Fever had it all. As usual, a big thank you to anyone that came down to our pop-up store for a chat or to take home some apparel, it’s always a pleasure. With this event getting bigger every year, I can’t wait to see what the team have in store for us next year. Make sure you pencil it in your diaries for 2017. We’ll be back out this weekend for our first European show of the year, Eurosunday in Belgium on Sunday 29th May.

Early Edition 2016

Date: 24 April 2016

Location: The Saints, Franklin’s Gardens, Northampton

Words & Photos by Henry Phull

When April comes around, the talk and excitement building up to Early Edition echoes throughout social media. It’s not surprising, as ‘EE’ is the next biggest event to follow Ultimate Dubs back in March. If you missed that, then EE is the show to debut your car at, and let’s face it, it’s still early on in the show calendar. Held at The Saints stadium in Northampton, the Edition38 crew take over the venue every year to host the pre-show to their established Edition38 ‘Show & Shine’ later on in the year. However, Early Edition has grown considerably over the past couple of years, making it nearly as big. Well, usually that is… This year was a little different, but more on that later! As per usual, we were surrounded by an outstanding selection of cars, traders, food and drink (including the all-important bar), plus glorious weather. We tried to capture as much as we could from the main show itself, in addition to the surrounding car parks with anything that took our fancy.

If you are reading this but didn’t actually attend the show, it may look like it was rather busy from the photographs. In reality, the turnout at this year’s Early Edition was unfortunately about half of what it has been in the past. Who knows what could have actually caused this, but we think it might have had something to do with a lot of the usual suspects heading to Wörthersee in Austria earlier than usual. We also heard that the Show & Shine had changed to a pre-booked method – maybe most people didn’t know about this? With most of the public car parks full of perfectly worthy cars, the show venue itself had plenty of empty spots that could have easily accommodated them. All in all, it was rather disappointing and there was a definite feeling of this in the air from most people we spoke with. But what can you do…? Shit happens as we all know. No doubt the Edition38 team will learn from this and come back bigger than ever next year. We will still be there and you should be too!

Eurosunday 2015

Location: Lommel, Belgium

Date: 7 June 2015

Words & Photos by Henry Phull

Eurosunday is one of those European shows I’ve been wanting to go to ever since I started Slam Sanctuary. It’s the show that everyone always raves to me about. I thought I’d be missing it yet again this year – mainly due to low funds having recently spent too much on my project car. Sounds familiar, right? However, flashback to 8pm on the Saturday night before the show, and I received a message from my friend Mark saying “Eurosunday….?”. After a few minutes of laughing at each other, we checked the Euro Tunnel prices, £60 return. Doable! Belgium and back in one day… it seemed like madness, considering we are all the way in Bournemouth – 170 miles from Folkestone. But thinking about it, what else were we going to do on a Sunday? Alarms set for 3.30am, we set off at 4am and thrashed the Mk4 to the Euro Tunnel, with a McDonald’s breakfast and coffee stop tied in of course. To our dismay and after our stupidly early start, we arrived at the Euro Tunnel terminal only to be told there were delays of up to two hours… we weren’t impressed!

Once we finally boarded the train, a brief 40 minutes later we were in Calais, and set off straight away to the show venue. As we were now running late, we gunned it through the short stretch of France and over the border, making our way past Antwerp and then through the delightful countryside into Lommel. We only stopped once for a toilet break by the side of the road! The venue itself was situated in the nearby industrial estate, completely abandoned from the public, making it an ideal venue to host a car show.

We arrived just after Midday, and I was shocked at the sheer amount of cars in the show, it was definitely bigger than anything I’m used to in the UK. Plus to make things even better, it was super hot. After a quick glance at the cars whilst queuing to get in, we both knew we’d made the right decision to do this crazy last minute trip. Anyway, sit back, and let me take you through my show highlights…

That sums up my Eurosunday highlights, hopefully you enjoyed my selection! We stuck around for a short while after the show but then remembered that we had another train to catch, so we hit the road again. Just before we got to Antwerp we bumped into Jamie, Kiran and the rest of the Players crew in their two Mk1’s. As they were also heading for the Euro Tunnel, we decided to join their convoy. Let me tell you, following these two beauties at neck breaking speeds through Belgium and France was quite a sight! Naturally I had to grab a few rolling shots…

I’m so pleased that I finally managed to get over to Belgium for the day. Not only was it my first Eurosunday, but my first ever European car show. You know those mates that constantly go on about how much better Euro shows are? We’ve all got them… Well I’m sorry to say, but I think it’s probably true! This has just made me want to do a lot more Euro shows as soon as possible! Don’t get me wrong, I love the UK shows, but it was certainly nice to mix things up a bit and see some cars I’m not used to seeing. On that note, I’d recommend it to anyone. Hopefully Slam Sanctuary will be back next year!

Queen Square Bristol Breakfast Club – May 2015

Words & Photos by Steph Clarke

So the past month has flown by and it was time for another early start and short trip into Bristol for the Avenue Drivers Club’s Breakfast Club Meet held at Queen Square. If you haven’t yet had a chance to check out last month’s meet coverage then you can do by clicking HERE. Arriving just before 8am we parked up and went for the first on-foot lap around the square taking a few minutes here and there to stand still and watch the others roll in, either on their own or in small convoys like these Porsches.

Before you had time to even realise, the square quickly stated to fill up with a huge variety of vehicles, which is what impressed me most at my first meet here last month, it’s so diverse! Among those coming in was this beautiful Nissan Skyline R32, I remember seeing this inside at Ultimate Stance and it looks even better out on the streets and now rocking a set of OZ Futura’s. Insert Fast and Furious quote here!

This Jaguar X-Type was super underrated, looking almost OEM when it drove in but aired out up on the pavement it looked so badass. We had a quick chat with the owner but I can’t remember what set up he was running apart from it was auto leveling..

Up on the pavement seems to be a popular spot for those rocking air ride, Justin Appleford’s Audi RS5 on Accuair and BC Forged HBR05 wheels was no exception. Gorgeous car and a pretty sweet number plate to match!

There’s never a shortage of American pick-ups with this Ford F50 and Chevrolet C10.

Over the other side of the square was this Chevrolet B350.

The old Fords always seem to make it out in force but this ridiculously clean Escort RS Turbo caught my eye, refreshing to see something other than your usual white/red/black RS’s.

From old to brand new, a Porsche 911 Carrera GTS. I prefer the older 911’s but this wasn’t so bad in person.

Another making it’s way round the square was David Mcdiarmid’s bagged BMW E46 with some meaty fitment. Even at it’s more practical driving height I think it looks pretty cool!

Now I don’t know if it’s because I want one that was making me notice them more, but there was definitely a decent Mercedes turnout this month. This W202 was one of them.

As always the BMW’s that attend these meets make me incredibly jealous. Some more Alpina goodness with this rare B9 / E28 535i.

This original M-Tech 2 E30 was also looking good.

It sounds bad, but with such a wide mix of stuff here you almost tend to ignore the exotics like this Ferrari 348.

There were a handful of race livery cladded cars this time, and who doesn’t like a big wing? This Dodge Viper GTSR doesn’t.

Yet again, I hold my hands up and say I didn’t know what this was, apart from being something very small. A little research and it’s a Trojan 200. Originally made in Germany under the name of Heinkel Kabine until a plant in Croydon took over production and renamed the little three wheeler.

Another BMW E28 and after a cheeky look at the for sale sign in the window this is hiding a fully rebuilt engine from a B10!

I imagine a good majority of you have seen this already, if not this is Bruce Holder’s Series 1 Landrover. Not only is it collectively about the height of your average Landrover wheel alone, it’s equipped with a V8!

More American metal and I can’t even explain the size of this Chrysler Newport Station Wagon, it was more like a stretch Limo!

I loved these style headlights on this Ford Escort RS2000 Custom.

Not too sure on the particulars of this apart from being a Ford Model A hot rod of some type. Bet it’s a giggle to drive!

This Porsche 911 was a little rough round the edges with its slantnose-esque type body kit.

Yep, I definitely want a Merc! Loved this immaculate Mercedes 190E 2.5-16.

It’s not very often that you get to see a Notchback Volkswagen, let alone one this clean.

I also have a not so secret love for 80’s/early 90’s Renaults, so without doubt this Ragnotti replica’d Renault 5 Turbo 2 was my favourite of the day.

Carrying on the race theme was this rather bright Ginetta.

Really liked the colour of this factory fresh Mercedes W109 300SEL.

And last but not least, we got to see Rory Hamiltons bagged W115 240D again, never a bad thing!

Once again it was a great morning with an awesome selection of vehicles! I’m not sure it was as busy as last month’s meet, but by no means was it quiet or boring – quite the opposite. This time a food festival was setting up in the middle of the square which possibly made people want to leave earlier before the rest of Bristol had woken up and made their way over for lunch. Even so, I don’t think we left until about 11.30am. I think this is going to become a regular meet to attend in my calendar and if you want to join, they’re held every second Sunday of the month which by my workings out will be on the 14th June, starting at around 8:30am. See you there!

Early Edition 2015

Words & Photos by Henry Phull

Edition38’s Show and Shine is quite some time away, but why should we have to wait until then? Luckily the organisers of one of the Summer’s biggest VAG shows seem to share this view, and yet again saved us from our show blues with their newer show, Early Edition, which kicked off as usual at The Saints stadium in Northampton. Early Edition has always been a relatively small show, it is of course mainly a warm up event for the big one later on in the year. But unsurprisingly, it is forever growing. The attendance, like last year, was off the chain. They’ve had to expand the show ground itself to give everyone more space, which means even more show cars. Also I’m not sure if it’s just me, but I much prefer shows that are on tarmac, it’s where cars belong, right? It always beats shooting a car on a grass field.

On to the show, and I’ll start things off with Oxford Car Audio’s awesome Audi S5 demo car, sitting on Air Lift bags and Avant Garde F541 SPEC1 wheels.

Opposite, Joe Caudwell’s supercharged Audi RS5 was equally jaw dropping, bagged by Plush Automotive with AccuAir suspension and also rocking a set of Avant Garde carbon split rims, F431 SPEC2’s. I think the dude on the floor must’ve been eyeing up some brakes.. ha.

I loved the colour of Jak Johnston’s LHD 1981 Mk1 Golf GL and I’m looking forward to seeing it on a set of BBS E49’s in the very near future!

I was admiring Dale Buckley’s Mk1 Audi TT back at Ultimate Dubs, but it was nice to finally see that fresh new colour outdoors. It looks even better than I’d previously thought, along with those gorgeous BBS RS’s.

The recent addition of Rotiform LHR’s have done great things for Will Smith’s Polo, which is still one of the cleanest 6N2’s you’ll ever come across.

It is refreshing to see that more and more air-cooled cars are being accepted into the community, here we have Aneysha Wakelin’s ’64 and Kirsty Greatrex’s ’69 Beetles.

For me personally, Matty Loveridge’s Miami Blue Mk1 Golf swallowtail was car of the show. I’ve always had a soft spot for this car back when it was on BBS RS’, but he’s recently added a super cool set of Compomotive Turbo’s and bagged the car on Air Lift suspension. I thought it’d be difficult to top what he already had, but Matty has done it. And to perfection.

You’ve gotta love a bagged Audi Avant, Nick Bulmer’s A4 here on huge 20″ BBS RS2’s and AccuAir suspension.

Adam Wyatt unveiled the new look for his Vento only very recently at Ultimate Dubs, but it looks like he’s already changed the wheels to a set of Advan 3 spokes which work incredibly well.

Continuing with the ‘traffic light’ colours, check out Matt Woodgate’s A4 on Air Lift suspension and Rotiform splits finished completely in black.

Finishing up with those colours is Luke Polyblank’s bagged Mk2 Golf on a gorgeous set of Gotti’s. I love the rear heckblende which really pulls the body striping together.

Over on the StillStatic stand, VRS Northampton’s Mk7 Golf R stopped me in my tracks. It must be the lowest static Golf R around, surely? Finished off nicely with big brakes and mbDESIGN wheels.

The colour combination of Nick Ackroyd’s Scirocco was something else… Viper Green paintwork and gold centred Rotiform CSW’s, what a thing of beauty. Along with an interior and boot build by RIIVA Design and EDGE Automotive, this car everything you could want in a show car.

BBS E50’s have to be one of the all time greatest wheel designs, which go so well on Jason Buckley’s Mk1 Golf. Early Edition was certainly a haven for all kinds of Mk1 goodness.

I’m starting to see that glorious signature ceramic polished finish on a lot of wheels recently, all hailing from the guys at Felgen Werkes. Here’s Tim Smith’s Mk4 R32 rocking his finished set of WatercooledIND’s.

And look, another ceramic polish finish on Kats Giles’ widened Mk5 Golf… although this time with a stunning set of Rotiform LHR’s.

Over on the Players’ stand, I’m glad Kiran Mistry got his Mk1 back on the road after an unfortunate incident prior to Ultimate Dubs a couple of month’s ago. It’s now looking awesome.

It’s pretty cool to see a bagged Seat Leon, as they’re not a car you see that often. Nicola Sidney’s Mk2 shown here on an eye-catching set of OZ Pegasus splits.

And believe it or not, more pink wheels… D2 Forged on Mark Lampard’s bagged Audi TTS.

You thought I was done with the Mk1’s? Too bad.. there’s more to come. Jacob Moore’s example was getting a lot of attention due to its classic BBS combo, absolutely timeless.

Shaking up the game, however, was Route 32’s immaculate Mk1, which has been around for a while now, and always popular due to that R32 engine conversion and stunning interior. This year they’ve added a set of custom B-Star wheels which look incredible on the car, especially with that contrasting turquoise centre colour.

I do enjoy seeing people think outside the box of the ‘usual wheels’, and making different choices. There’s so many wheels out there. The 20″ OZ Superturismo’s work great on this bagged Scirocco.

More of that Felgen Werkes polished magic on Georgie Marlow’s BBS RM’s complimenting her Mk1.

The second time I’ve seen Auto Finesse’s Air Lift equipped Mk2 demo car, and it looks even better in daylight. That BBS bodykit really makes the car!

So I’ve shown you my highlights of the show, now I’m going to take you outside into the surrounding car parks where there’s more wonderful cars to see, including lots of non-VAG. I’ll start with Olly Snow’s stunning Mulberry Mk3 VR6 on BBS RS.

Considering what bargains S8’s are nowadays, I’m surprised we’re not seeing more of them. Billy Hilton just slammed his awesome example on KW coilovers and 20″ Rotiform SNA’s.

It’s a car we all saw a lot of last year, and a relief to finally see back out again… Becky Evans’ beautiful BMW E21 bagged on BBS RS.

The VIP Modular VX210 wheels on Mark Gunning’s Audi A5 are monstrous, check out the size of those lips! Bagged by Only Charged Dubs, this car sits extremely well too.

Some more handiwork from Only Charged Dubs, with Josh Hall’s Mk6 on Autostrada Modena’s.

These BBS GT004’s looked glorious on Myles Collins’ R32.

It’s been a while since I’ve shot James Aveil’s Mercedes W114, I love this thing.

Of course there’s Rory Hamilton’s W115, too. These two looked fantastic together and it’s cool to see more of these big Mercs already this year.

I really dig Alex Herman’s E46 M Sport, it really suits those 2-piece OZ Mito Type 3’s.

Here’s a double whammy of white centred BBS RF’s, firstly on a pre-facelift E36 ‘vert…

And another set working equally well on Alex Hurd’s bagged E46 M Sport.

Steven Doe made the trip from down South in his stunning BMW E21, bagged on CCW wheels. I’ve shot the car a lot already this year, but it’s still a clear favourite.

Parked alongside was Chris Phillips static Lexus IS300, looking incredible on stepped-up BBS RS. Chris has recently fitted some Vertex skirts which makes it hard to believe this car is static.. tough as hell!

Being a BMW enthusiast myself, something like this will always make my heart melt. I loved Jake Ryan’s 318is, bagged and on OZ Futura’s. A strong look.

I’ll finish up with some LikeHell Design repping, starting off with Jamie Hitchcock’s static BMW Z4 that we recently featured (click here to check out the feature).

And more WORK wheels on Josh Mussell’s (the man behind LikeHell) static Nissan 350Z.

This was the first time I’d come across this, but that white centred WORK Meister look seems to work on a lot of platforms. Check out Nath Howell’s bagged Subaru Impreza. Cool or what!?

Finally, Jordan O’Sullivan’s R53 Mini Cooper S on Carline CM6’s remains to be one of the nicest Mini’s out there.

That’s it for our Early Edition coverage. As usual, the event was huge… just imagine how big Edition38 is going to be later on in the year. Unlike Ultimate Dubs, the organisers here didn’t allow ANY non-VAG into the main show this time, even on trade stands. How do you feel about this? We want to know, leave your thoughts in the comments. However we’re still glad that there was such a large turnout even in the car park, it shows you’re all interested nonetheless. Thanks to Edition38 for having us, we’ll see you again at the main Show and Shine on 4/5/6 September. Next up on our agenda is The Car Show Collective’s ‘Show of Shows’ in Kent on the 17th May. Don’t miss it!
