Here at Slam Sanctuary we attend our fair share of car shows, but there’s one particular event that more and more people are starting to recognise, which still remains a major annual highlight for us. It’s the perfect show to wind down the season with a chilled out and more relaxed vibe which it has become famous for. The end of September means one thing to us… Westside Treffen. Held in the lush grounds of the Chalfont St. Peter Cricket Club just outside of London, you can rest assured that you’ll be in for a day of mint condition classic Volkswagens, in addition to a whole host of other glorious German metal, plus a few wildcards thrown in here and there. Perfectly cut grass, a well organised layout, great people and incredible food – Westside never fails to put a smile on my face. Let’s take a look at the stunning cars that caught my eye this year…

For a Volkswagen orientated event, Westside have continued to allow more and more non-VAG examples into the show each year. The way I see it is, if you want people to attend you need to let in the cars that are being built (and surprise surprise… they’re not ALL Volkswagens!). As the show continues to grow (with a record breaking full capacity by 11am), the venue has remained at the perfectly sized Chalfont St. Peter Cricket Club. This means there’s time to actually relax and check out the whole show at your own pace. Car events are becoming so big now that you rarely get to see everything, which is what makes Westside so enjoyable and niche. If you’re thinking of bringing family to a car event, or looking for the best chance to catch up with friends over some of West London’s best food, this is the place.
